Why still government schools does not have proper education system

One of the fundamental points that we are missing is that private school is having their own criteria for admission and they select bright students, whereas Govt schools have to intake all students irrespective of their background.

Also, if you consider the passing percentage of students as a criterion of quality education, then JNV and KVs are way ahead of private schools.

and I feel these are the main things :

I would like to put some facts on the infrastructure and the standard of teachers in government schools, some of which may be a bit uncomfortable to many readers but unfortunately harsh realities. In respect of infrastructure, most of the schools are far below average standards and all the labs and library facilities are just for the sake of the count and hardly equipped with the minimum essentials.

In respect of the standard of the teachers and their sincerity and dedication, they are very much lagging. There are several reasons for the pathetic condition.

  1. The teachers are recruited through government recruitment policy following all the rules of reservation etc. The ultimate impact is that there are several teaching faculties without any fundamental knowledge of the basics but just got their posting through reservation. This creates a very big impact, particularly in the Science stream, where the students are just instructed to just mug up portions of the subject from their textbooks without any understanding of the concepts.
  2. Just like in private schools, in government schools, there is no accountability for the teachers for showing results except for the threat that they would be transferred if they don’t produce results. There also, those teachers have the community shield and contacts of state politicians easily escape from this trouble and they remain forever without any accountability and nobody to question them. The end result is the spoil of study for those students under these teachers and their life. Particularly those poor students who can’t afford to take tuition have their fate sealed with these teachers.

Apart from these, the interference of the government and the local politicians make things worst and their indulgence in corruption in many of the government schemes like the noon meal scheme, distribution of free lap taps and other educational aids spoil the entire atmosphere and turn them similar to several top corrupt offices like state treasury, PWD, etc
